In the end, I came to the conclusion that I still do not write in order to be famous. I do not write because I think I am some great teacher in the ICoC subculture, though I entertained those thoughts for a while. I do not write for any other reason than for the sake of writing.
I resemble these remarks. Writing helps me flesh out my feelings. My blog is mostly just for me, although when I write something that I thought was profound, my pride gets wounded a bit when no one comments. That's probably a good thing. :-)

As far as spell checkers, get the Google toolbar. It's available for IE and FF and has a built in spell checker for any text entry field on the page. It can be a little clunky to use, particularly in FF, but it gets the job done. I'm a notoriously bad speller & typist, so my posts have been riddled with errors in the past, I sometimes forget to use it and that usually comes back to bite me.

There's also IEspell that works with IE and Maxthon (my preferred browser) but it sometimes just doesn't check all the fields for some reason.
