In reformed denominations there is a movement toward a higher church form of worship and a return to instilling more meaning to the sacraments. That is, emphasis on God actually doing something in Baptism and that the Lord's Supper being a weekly event which is open to Covenant children. You really want nutty? I probably won't like it when it arrives. I sketch it in more of a negative space type of way. I know what it isn't. It isn't something that already exists. Not the historical hermeneutic (how can we know how the 1st century people heard the message 20 centuries later?) Not the Megachurch trend. Not even recent church of Christ unity efforts.
