Sestercentennial

I grilled on the back deck for the first time in years. We had a slow morning, we talked and watched movie.

We also talked through a difficult event we witnessed at a church a few weeks ago. I was triggered by the violence and I am still getting messages asking me how I am doing. My family processed what we did and didn’t do. We talked about how we will react to something similar in the future.

We had to process, but this isn’t about me. A young man spoke up and disrupted service. Good on him, he were sharing something that he had tried to resolve a couple weeks earlier. He was physically removed from the stage. Despite what you see online, there was more than one person saying “let him speak.” The young man, himself, says, “Many people left and came outside to meet me.”

Next week, that church will be working through advice from a professional of what to do moving forward. I hope that they take it.
