I am still here. First, let me get some business stuff out of the way.

I cannot check email at work except for my work address. My work email cannot accept email from outside of the company - nobody’s email can at the moment. It has been this way for a few days. We don’t use Outlook or any of the *nix products, it’s unique.

So, I love all of you, but you’ve had no way to contact me short of calling me, and I haven’t been well enough to answer the phone if you have. Not sick, just tired. Imagine staying awake for 72 hours, that is the equivalent of what it’s been like the past few days.

So, you can email me at a pinakidion address, but I can’t answer until nighttime. When my work email works again, I’ll let you know.

**************************
Outside of that, I have spent the last three weeks finishing Lenga. The world is complete with some descriptive bits needing some attention. I’ve also come close to getting a prototype for the computer project I mentioned earlier. I say prototype because it is a *nix solution.

As mrtool pointed out to me, now I need a story to take place in this world of Lenga. Maybe this summer…

What I hope to talk about soon are:

We talked with one of the churches of christ in town and failed the test of fellowship. We are instrumental (though in theology only, the last time we actually *had* an instrument was long ago) and so we can attend their church as guests, not brothers. It’s okay, in building unity, these things will happen.

Alan did a great series on CENI, Command, Example, Necessary Inference. It is the hermenutic of most conservative churches of Christ. Discussing it and a model of spirituality at the church I attend gave me some food for thought that I’d like to share. They are related, really.

We had a heat wave here of 38 degrees yesterday. It is short lived as the snow and 10 below temperatures will return. For those that like the cold, all I will say is that you are welcome to pay my heating bill.

More later, just letting everyone know that I am, indeed, alive.

Glad to hear you’re alive! I’ll take some of that snow and cold temps if you wanna send ‘em my way.

Actually, it’s been pretty chili here the last couple weeks. We’ve even had two “snow events” in that time. You remember NC snow, don’t ya? Snows in the morning and by mid-afternoon it’s all gone. Stupid, freaky weather…

    Daytona next Sunday, Cuz!!

    Much love…

    Later!

For once, I get to see Daytona. It is wonderful.

Previous years, it competed with Valentine’s Day. My wife will watch Nascar, she can even use “rubbin’ is racin’” correctly, and she has learned that 24 is the evil one. But there is Absolutely no way that Daytona can be incorporated into this most sacred holiday.

Now if she had been from NC instead of Minnesota…

Any man whose wife correctly knows the number of the beast is a lucky man, indeed.

I still don’t understand your Valentine’s Day comment, though. I thought that’s what Valentine’s Day was all about…The Daytona 500, the first and biggest race of the NASCAR season, is a Valentine’s gift.

When the Evil One hits the wall, well that’s just like the sparkling diamond center of said gift…

Ah a closet racer. Even though it’s NASCAR, that’s cool. Sorry I’m not a big NASCAR fan but some racing is better than none! Check out my latest project, I’m building a slot car track.

Hey! I like that one. I came out of the closet about a year ago with liking Jeff I was afraid for years to let my husband know. He seems to have forgiven me but takes pleasure in letting me know when he’s out of the race. I planned our wedding on a race weekend in May several years ago so now I can’t plan anything else during a race as pay back for his big sacrifice.

NASCAR? Wait, I thought you were a Democrat? I’m sorry, you’re not allowed to watch.

Wait….I am a Republican and I never watch NASCAR? Oh, my! What’s the world coming to.

I know, I know. Democrat and racing fan. Maybe not popular in the grandstand when I open my mouth, but I’m getting used to that sensation. :)

And MICHAEL WALTRIP cheating ?!?!?!?!?! Seriously bad accusation. I just think that the other car makers don’t want Toyota to do well this year.

  8. Milly on February 15th, 2007 9:23 am

Yep they were a cheating. Darn stupid thing to do. I’m a Dem and a race fan and so is my man.

Those darn Dems……taking over everything these days!!!!

Heh! I almost did a spit take!

I was thinking those Reps probably want to tax us for watching.

What a great idea! I’ll tell ‘W’ next time he comes down here to his ranch.

I’m surprised you would watch something like NASCAR that so evidently contributes to ‘global warming’….

ok, ok, I’ll quit. I have one brother that’s a diehard “Give me Rush or give me death” Republican and one that’s a diehard “By golly, Al Gore did invent the Internet” Democrat. They are both attorneys - so you can imagine the fun!! At those times I become an Independent!

I feel your pain ttk my brother is a lobbyist, a liberal Dem one. I’m a conservative Dem. We have a few Reps in the family. Politics and religion are the topics of lots of discussions.

Out of curiosity, can a conservative dem vote for a pro choice candidate?

  14. pinakidion on February 19th, 2007 5:54 pm

A conservative dem *can* vote for a pro-choice candidate. Not all of them will.

  15. Milly on February 19th, 2007 11:49 pm

A conservative dem *can* vote for a pro-choice candidate. Not all of them will.

    That is true.

    How about that race!

  16. Bobber on February 20th, 2007 8:39 am

Can you explain this a bit more? How do you justify voting for a person who will continue the killing of thousands of unborn children, knowing that those unborn feel pain and are viable even half way through the pregnancy?

  17. pinakidion on February 20th, 2007 9:00 am

I don’t justify it. Some people can and do.

If you are asking me if I have ever voted for a pro-choice candidate, then yes I have. I did so with great trepidation. The pro-life candidate espoused policies that punished the poor and middle-class, cut education, and favored big businesses. I felt like I had to choose between the moron that kills unborn and the moron that grinds the already-born.

  18. Bobber on February 20th, 2007 9:22 am

Ok, thanks, that’s good to know. I noticed that there were quite a few pro-life democrats elected in the last election. Including the guy who beat Ric Santorum. He even said he would vote against any fetal stem cell initiatives. Very surprising.
