The whole house is sick and so am I. It’s the flu. Because of the various nose issues with Dancing Bear (our youngest) and Brother Bear (our oldest), we have to do this regimen with saline drops that upsets the whole family. So we’ve had hourly nose cleanings and general aches.

Not fun.

So, I appreciate that Gordon is back and writing about the UP. It didn’t fade into disuse as he originally thought, but I’m sure he said something interesting.

I skimmed it, but that’s about all I can do. Too much medication.

Besides, I will probably just let it go. I can only be so outraged at the complete lack of ability to do something different. Alan is doing a lot of good, I hope he is successful.

Have you tried taking lots of vitamin C?
I have found Cathcart’s table to be fairly accurate for myself.

I cannot take vitamin C orally unless it is in a coated tablet of some kind. So, I cannot drink OJ, Grapefruit Juice, Cranberry Juice, etc. No citrus.

So, I take Vitamin C pills. I’ll see if my system can tolerate more than 500mg a day.

Yes, pills work good. I prefer gell caps. 1000 mg is best, especially when you are sick. You need to get a lot in fast for it to be effective. I had a sinus infection last week. On Thursday I must have taken 20 g (that’s 20,000mg) over 24 hours. Maybe try taking 1 g every half hour at first. If you are not passing gas after a couple hours, take even more. Keep it up until your symptoms lessen. Read Cathcart’s paper carefully so you understand it. Most people do not take enough.

Also, make sure you are not getting time release capsules. If the box says sustained release, or something similar, these are the time release type. They are not as effective in my experience (you have to take even more).
