The high Wed here is suppose to be 83. The low Thurs will be 33. No wonder I take lots of sinus medication!

If you try bowl tolerance dosages of vitamin C, you may be surprised at the strong antihistamine effect and how clear your nasal passages become. See Dr. Cathcart’s paper on Titrating to Bowl Tolerance.

The paper link gives me a 404.

It’s funny, I have to take vitamin C in a pill anyway - I cannot swallow anything high citrus (orange juice, grapefruit juice, cherry juice, lemonade, etc.) What happens is my throat clogs up immediately. On the positive side, I never have a sore throat for long, one swig of OJ and my throat is coated for quite a while. I’ve always said that I was allergic, but only because it is faster than explaining what happens.

As far as the weather, it is amazing to see tons of people get sick. The story about this town is that if you don’t have allergies before you move here, you will before you leave. I know extremes do not cause allergies, but the big shifts do wear on the body a bit.

the same thing in SA when we moved here. my husband had a terrible time. they will tell you that if you take a little vinegar sweetened with the local (must be locally produced) honey of the area will help neutralize you to the local pollens. it did seem to help.

Why do you mock me with your delicious winter weather? It is unfair…

Satan’s concubine, Elizabeth Gardner, was so perky this morning telling me that it was going to be in the low 70s here today.

If only I could reach my hands inside the television and get them around her throat…

Just remember, my friend, that this weather comes at a price.

    No Chik-Fil-A
    No John Boy and Billy
    No ACC Tournament
No decent NFL games on TV
    REALLY HIGH TAXES
    Lots and lots of allergens

However, if you can deal with all that, then by all means, move out here.

Same thing happened to me when I moved to Ohio. Cold, then warm, then cold, then warm. People got sick and I got pnemonia/bronkitis (sp). Moved back to the promised land and been fairly fine. I think different bugs live in different parts of the country.

Off topic but I think all you ICoC/CoC guys will greatly benefit from this discussion of baptism. Both of the people involved in the initial post are protestant teachers who work at Roman Catholic schools. My friend Jon Barlow is completing his PHD at St. Louis U. and Joal Garver is a professor of philosophy at La Sale U. This discussion, I think you will see, is so nuanced and detailed and goes to such a deeper level than anything I would typically find in a CoC discussion. Is that good or bad? Maybe a little of both!
