Been a few days

But I’m still around. There’s been some furious attempt to finalize the Study Series only to discover that now may not be the right time for it.

I may still publish it, but there’s little reason to now. I never thought that I’d be ahead of the curve on letting go of some things in the past. Oh well.

In the meantime, I hope to do more with my fantasy world and on a class about the Synoptic Gospels this winter.

As far as the fantasy world goes, there’s more work to do on the Hesberians. Having conquered most of the world before the rise of magic, their influence is felt worldwide. Because of the old empire, there is a common language in most of the world among humans. The Duregar speak some, the Sook speak it well, but Elves have little knowledge of it and no desire to learn it. Again, the Hesberians (now living in lands where magic does not function) do not trust Elves. The Elves, in return, do not regard them very highly either.

One mark of the Hesberians still present are the logographs used to write their language until they conquered the Iskans (human tribe) and learned a more syllabic alphabet. This development spurred a literary boom in Hesberian culture. To this day, the ancient script is revered and making a comeback, though some of the knowledge of certain symbols is lost to time.

Outside of that, I’ll keep you up to date. If you want a copy of the study series, I’ll email it to you.
