We just got back from the doctor and Dancing Bear’s nose is open. This is the first time we’ve gotten this news on her left nostril. Her right has stayed open for some time. Her surgery three weeks ago may very well be her last. We’ll find out in six weeks, but all signs are pointing to resolution.
Today may mark the end of the major medical journeys our family began in October 2005.
I’m having a celebratory quesadilla.
Another piece of good news is that her surgeon is excited about Hands & Voices. He would like to be on the board of directors. Normally, I would think it presumptuous to ask for such a post. However, he is Director of the Boys Town Ear, Nose & Throat Institute and the Director of the Cochlear Implant Center.
I think he’d be a good fit. 🙂
Lastly, it is snowing here. They call it flurries despite the .25 inch on the ground. It was 70 here on Monday. Today snow. Welcome to the Midwest, we have every season at least once a week.
