Happy New Year

Well, we’ve all experienced the leap second and made it into 2006.

Unfortunately, I’ll probably write a bunch of checks dated January 2005 for over a month. Yes, I know what I said – over a month. I wouldn’t be surprised to date the Feb gas bill as Jan 18,2005.

Anywho, I had mentioned draft posts sometime ago. Today I’ll put in a solution. Seeing as I want to start fresh this year, I’m going to create a new category called Semithought. All of my drafts from last year will be changed to this category and published. I may never finish them. They will not appear all at once because they will have their origin date instead of today’s date assigned to them.

Jasper enjoyed New Year’s in true baby style – we were up anyway, we changed his diaper, he ate about 6 oz, and he was pretty indifferent to the piano playing Auld Lang Syne. We had fun, though. My wife and I prayed about the new year and talked about successes and failures of the past year. We toasted our failures and relished in our successes.

Then we collapsed and fell asleep. I think Jasper acutally slept for a four hour stretch this morning. (Yay!) He and my wife are still asleep.

Again, Happy New Year. Much love from the Heartland.
