It’s 2009

Thanks to all my friends and family. I hope the best for all of you in the new year.

As I said earlier, I did get an answer of sorts for my yearlong quest to hear the voice of God. No, it’s not what I wanted, but religion is not always about what I want. To paraphrase the Rolling Stones, you don’t always get what you want, but you do get what you need.

This year’s quest is to enjoy my Christianity. More about that later, but a lot of it boils down to adding good to my life instead of subtracting bad from it. Think Luke 11:24-26. Posting about faith, I hope to start with Ten Things I Want to Do as a Christian and work from there.

I am very glad that 2008 is gone. It was not a good year. There is a lot of hope for this year. Aside from a legal issue to deal with in Februrary, things are looking up for the year. Our family should be out of debt – that includes car, bills, medical, etc. Credit scores have been examined and all issues resolved. This, of course, means a new house, if the Lord allows. My office has space, the garage is about 33% completed (meaning we have decluttered our lives by about 1/3), and the house is ready for folks to visit.

I need to do Yet Another ReOrg on all the sites I host. I have some cruft and unused space that needs to go away. I also have some structual irregularities that need to be fixed. In the end, I want to be able to connect to my FTP account and see folders for blog, sycarion, wikifarm, clerry, church, etc. As it is now, the current church site is a sub folder of a sub folder of a folder for the original church site in 2004. There’s a not-so-secret subdomain with some files that needs to go away. In short, it’s a big ol’ mess.

Anywho, more to follow.
